Wood County reported 25 new COVID cases, one more death and one new hospitalization due to COVID since Monday.
The county is now up to 13,240 confirmed and probable cases from COVID-19, 222 deaths and 655 hospitalizations since last March, according to the Thursday, May 27, update from the Wood County Health Department. No further information is available on the new cases, death or hospitalization.
The county is down to 60 COVID cases per 100,000 residents.
Every Thursday, the Wood County Health Department lists “active cases” by ZIP codes. As of this week, there are five areas in the county with active cases.
The Perrysburg ZIP code area has the most active cases with 25. The Bowling Green ZIP code area has the next highest number this week, with 16 active cases. Rossford is next with 7, followed by Northwood with 6, and Walbridge with 5.
The latest COVID numbers reported for schools in the county included 19 students and no staff:
- Bowling Green City Schools: 8 students.
- Eastwood: 2 students.
- Northwood: 3 students.
- Otsego: 1 student.
- Penta Career Center: 1 student.
- Perrysburg: 4 students.
Two long-term care facilities in Wood County reported new COVID cases involving staff, including two staff at Brookdale and one staff at Otterbein Perrysburg.
