From BOWLING GREEN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Foundation and presenting sponsors: The City of Bowling Green, Bowling Green State University and Wood County Hospital are excited to announce details on this year’s Annual Community Holiday Parade, Elves on Main, on Saturday, Nov. 20, the largest holiday parade in Northwest Ohio.
The first unit will step off at 9:45 a.m. from Dill Street followed by an additional 12 streets of units. Timing of the parade looks to have that first parade unit make it to the Four Corners of Main and Wooster Streets as the live broadcast with WTOL 11 begins at 10 a.m. We are thrilled to have personalities Jerry Anderson and Ryan Wichman provide the commentary during the live broadcast.
Grand Marshall will be Mayor Mike Aspacher and the Honorary Grand Marshalls will be Gene and Rita Klotz. The Klotzes are being honored in this year’s parade for all their contributions to the Bowling Green Community. Klotz’s Floral was a staple in Bowling Green for over 100 years.
The anticipated line up of the participating units includes eight area high school bands including our own Bowling Green High School Band under the direction of Bruce Corrigan, performing units, floats, recognition of award winners, community leaders, organizations and so much more.
When selecting where to view the parade, keep in mind that the prime viewing area is in the downtown blocks from Ridge to Washington. Main and Wooster Streets will close at 9 a.m.to allow for 30’ of bleachers to be brought in to provide an excellent view right at the Four Corners. The new parklets in front of Juniper and Grounds for thought may also be a great place to view the parade while enjoying a coffee or hot chocolate.

Executive Director Mary Hinkelman stated: “The pride and excitement that a parade brings to a community is immeasurable. The community comes out in full force to see the parade live and we estimate this number to surpass out typical estimate of 3500. Our partnership with WTOL the past three years has provided the opportunity to not only entertain 30,000 viewers, but also offered a glimpse into the spirit and vitality of our City to our neighboring communities.”
