A Santa Shop is set up this week at Wood County Job and Family Services for families working with Children’s Services.
A roomful of toys and gift cards were donated by the Wood County community. Donations were made by local businesses, governmental offices, residents, and several police departments who competed in the “battle of the badges.”
The items were given to families in need. In addition to toys for the younger children, teenagers were given gift cards, and families were given gift cards for groceries and to local meat markets.
Approximately 80 families were served at the Santa Shop, according to Sandi Carsey, protective services administrator at Wood County Job and Family Services.
