The Wood County Commissioners have signed a memorandum of understanding supporting Bowling Green’s historic preservation efforts.
The agreement signifies that Bowling Green and Wood County support the concept of historic preservation of the county courthouse and former jail. The county agrees to maintain the exterior of the historic buildings in a manner that complies with the spirit of the city’s historic preservation ordinance.
Bowling Green Mayor Mike Aspacher was appreciative of the county’s support.
“It’s important symbolically for the Historic Preservation Commission,” he said.
Aspacher praised the ongoing efforts of the county commissioners to maintain the courthouse and old jail.
“Clearly they’ve done a really great job of preserving them,” he said.
