The Wood County Courthouse has gone green to show appreciation and support of local veterans.
Zach Migura, executive director and Wood County Veterans Service Officer, shared information on the Operation Green Light for Veterans program.
America’s counties have a long and proud history of serving the nation’s veterans, a legacy that continues to this day with federal, state, and local partners to ensure that the former service members in our communities have access to the resources they need to thrive.
In advance of Veterans Day, counties across the country are demonstrating appreciation and support for America’s veterans in a new way. County government buildings will be illuminated in green Nov. 7-13 as part of Operation Green Light for Veterans.
The initiative – spearheaded by the National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers – is designed to raise awareness about the challenges veterans face and the resources available to assist them and their families at the county, state, and federal levels.
