James “Jim” Flory, 92, of Bowling Green passed away April 7, 2023.
Jim was born in Greenville, Ohio to the late Roy and Grace (Netzley) Flory. He married Pat Arterburn on April 14, 1957 in Scottsville, Kentucky and she has preceded him in death. On February 25, 1984 in Toledo, Jim married Janet Pinkston and she also has preceded him in death. Jim then married Mary Melnek on July 29, 2005 in Bowling Green and she survives in Bowling Green. Also surviving are his three daughters: Sue (Kent) Pagel of The Woodlands, Texas, Jill Warner of Boise, ID and Kim (Mike) Reardon of Amelia, Ohio; a son: Michael (Fiona) Flory of Clevedon, England; nine grandchildren: Matthew and Alex Pagel, Andrea Warner Bowen, Nathan Warner, Allison and Erin Reardon, Joshua, Thomas and Eli Flory; step-grandson Colin Basford; 4 great-grandchildren and one on the way. He was also preceded in death by his three brothers: Robert, Keith and John Flory.
Jim was a 1949 graduate of the Gettysburg High School and obtained his Bachelors of Science Degree from Louisville University in 1959. Jim was employed through the Lion Store at the former Southwyck Mall in Toledo, Ohio, where he retired after 33 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955. Jim enjoyed golfing where he was a member of the Heatherdowns Country Club from 1983-2004 and recently of Bowling Green Country Club. Jim enjoyed bowling in the Senior Leagues at Southwyck Lanes in Toledo, Ohio.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 10:00 am until this time of his Celebration of Life service at 11:00 am in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Toledo Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Marks Lutheran Church.
