Bowling Green State University will host high school students from across Ohio with interests in business careers June 18-23 as part of the 2023 Ohio Business Week program.
A first-time host of Ohio Business Week, BGSU will welcome students to learn and live on campus during the residential program as they create simulated business products with guidance from business professionals, including University alumni. The student entrepreneurs will also participate in interactive sessions and trainings with industry leaders and mentors in the Schmidthorst College of Business to further develop their concepts.
“We are excited to partner with Ohio Business Week to offer students a preview of what their college experience could look like at BGSU,” said Dr. Jennifer Percival, dean of the Schmidthorst College of Business. “These students will have the opportunity to enhance their entrepreneurial thinking and build upon their ideas throughout the week, similar to how we work with and encourage our students to develop their ideas for The Hatch, which takes student and alumni business ideas from concept to development.”
Ohio Business Week ends on Friday, June 23, with a trade show starting at 11:30 a.m. in the Maurer Center Atrium where students will present their products to the community and for potential “investors” to fund.
Established in 1989, Ohio Business Week is a volunteer effort of the state’s business community to share with the next generation of Ohio’s leaders the concepts and practices to be successful in business. Since its launch, the program has served more than 6,500 students.
