Bowling Green State University will welcome new and returning students to campus for Fall 2023 Semester with Weeks of Welcome(WoW) Aug. 15-Oct. 2, offering multiple events and activities.
BGSU WoW provides students an opportunity to explore their learning community, connect with classmates and make new friends.
Move-In
Ahead of the first day of classes on Aug. 21, BGSU residence halls will be busy once again as new and returning students move-in Aug. 15-20. Students will have opportunities to meet through planned events and activities.
Convocation
On Thursday, Aug. 17, the University will hold its official welcome for the Class of 2027 with Convocation starting at 7:30 p.m. on the Bowen-Thompson Quadrangle, west of University Hall.
The Class of 2027 will hear from current students, BGSU President Rodney K. Rogers and other academic leaders to learn about the University’s special traditions and history as they begin their first semester.
Rally on Main BG
For the third year, BGSU and the City of Bowling Green are partnering to host Rally on Main BG from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, in the city’s downtown.
The free community event offers students and residents a chance to shop, dine and explore all that the city has to offer. There will also be a zip line, a ninja warrior course, a bounce house and more.
Additional BGSU WoW activities include:
- Flock the Block: A welcome back party for students featuring fire pits, games, activities and more
- Sunrise on the Hill: Students are invited to watch the sunrise on the hill located near Doyt L. Perry Stadium on the first day of classes
- Kick-Start Fall at Kreischer: Students will experience new dining options this fall at The Sundial dining facility in Kreischer Quadrangle, featuring three meals a day and a new lounge space
- Cookout with the President: Free food, fun, music and games for students with BGSU President Rodney K. Rogers ahead of the start of classes
- Campus Fest: An annual fair that offers students a chance to learn about different organizations, featuring more than 300 student organizations, local merchants, community partners and University offices
