The Village Players will stage “Amélie: The Musical” at The Village Players Theatre, 2740 Upton Ave. Toledo, weekend June 14 through June 23.

“Amélie: The Musical” is based on the 2001 romantic comedy film of the same name. After surviving a tragic and isolated childhood, follow the journey of a young woman finding her way through the streets of Paris. On the night of Princess Diana’s death, Amelie finds a small box holding the treasures of a small boy. She decides that if she can find the owner of the box, now a grown man, that maybe she can make a change in someone’s life and be just like Princess Diana. As she now sets out to find others to help with her acts of kindness, she finds herself on a journey of discovery that just might lead to her finding love.
Sydney Breeding plays the title character with Josh Egnatuk as Nino Quincampoix, Olivia Lemkin as Gina, Sue Dessner as Georgette, Lydia Schafer as Suzanne and Ray Mara as Lucien. Others in the cast are Beth Parker, Luke Serrano, Michael Schmitz, Jon Hunt, Mark Owen and Evan James Copeland.
Showtimes are Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 16th at 2 p.m., continuing Thursday, June 20 at 7 p.m., Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 23 at 2 p.m.
