Amy DeLaPena named Dispatcher of the Year at highway patrol’s BG post

Ohio State Highway Patrol Dispatcher Amy L. DeLaPena has been selected as the 2023 Dispatcher of the Year at the Bowling Green Dispatch Center.

DeLaPena, 45, was honored in recognition of outstanding service over the past year at the Bowling Green Dispatch Center. Sworn officers and dispatchers chose DeLaPena based on technical job knowledge and ability, enthusiastic work attitude, teamwork, and prompt and courteous response to the public’s requests for information and assistance.

Dispatcher DeLaPena is now in contention for the District and State Dispatcher of the Year Award to be announced at a later date.

Dispatcher DeLaPena joined the Highway Patrol in 2015 and has served at the Bowling Green Dispatch Center. Originally from Genoa and a graduate of Genoa Area HighSchool, Dispatcher DeLaPena attended Owens Community College. 

Dispatcher DeLaPena was awarded Post and District Dispatcher of the Year in 2021 and has been nominated for a Gold Star Award.

Dispatcher DeLaPena and her husband Steve reside in Genoa with their dog Nini.
