Anthony Dishop

Anthony “Tony” Dishop, 48 a lifelong resident of Bowling Green, Ohio went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, March 18, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

Tony married Christine “Chris” (Heminger) Dishop on November 14, 1997 in Haskins, Ohio and she survives him in Bowling Green.

Tony is survived by his parents: Richard “Dick” and Jan (Longstreet) Dishop of Bowling Green, Ohio; his biological mother: Diane (Nagle) Stewart, of Oregon, Ohio; his loving wife Christine “Chris” Dishop, of Bowling Green, Ohio;  his three beloved children: Paityn, AJ and Zachary Dishop. A sister: Teresa (Scott Swanby) Dishop, of Jacksonville, Florida; mother-in-law: Norma Costilla, of Bowling Green, Ohio; father-in-law: Jerry Heminger Jr., of Sandusky, Ohio; maternal grandparents: Gerald and Betty Longstreet, of Haskins, Ohio; brothers-in-law: Tom O’Connor, of Mendota Heights, Minnesota; Jerry (Tammy) Heminger III, of Port Clinton, Ohio; nephews and nieces: Kaidden, Breck and Macray O’Connor, of Mendota Heights, Minnesota and Nicholas and Benjamin Heminger, of Port Clinton, Ohio along with a host of Loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Special friends.   Tony was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Albert and Amelia Dishop and a sister: Jodi O’Connor.

Tony was a 1987 graduate of Bowling Green High School and a graduate of Bowling Green State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications.  Tony started out his life long career in the automotive sales industry at the young age of 16 alongside his father Dick at their family car dealership, Dishop Ford & Nissan.  Tony went on to work for Bowling Green Lincoln Mercury for several years as their finance manager.  Tony later worked as the general manager for McNeill Chevrolet & Buick in Swanton, before opening up his lifelong dream of owning his own dealership BG Southside Motors.   Tony took great pride in owning his own business and selling cars and helping people find their perfect car, and especially enjoyed getting the cars cleaned up and serviced to put out on the sales lot.

Tony was a member of the Cedar Creek Church in Whitehouse, Ohio.  He was very passionate about his faith and took great pride in sharing the message with others.  Tony had many hobbies, he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan, he enjoyed being out on the lake fishing and being with his family and friends on the open waters on their boat  “Liesure Lee”.   Above all these hobbies and interests, Tony was a man with determination and strength, he had a kind heart and was very devoted to his family and friends.  He cherished the time with his wife and children, attending his kids sporting events and being with his “Hockey Family” during his kids’ hockey games and tournaments.  Tony will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation for Tony will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM and 6:00 PM-8:00 PM in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1460 W. Wooster Street/P.O. Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Tele: 419-352-2171. Funeral Services to Celebrate Tony’s Life will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM with visitation 1 hour prior  in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY REMEMBRANCE CHAPEL.  Interment will follow in the Union Hill Cemetery.
