As students return, so do the loud music complaints to BG Police

With the return of classes at Bowling Green State University, an increase in loud noise complaints was seen this past weekend.

Bowling Green Police Division responded to six noise complaints between the hours of 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1 a.m. on Sunday.

In one case, in the 400 block of East Merry Street, the 19-year-old resident was cited for disorderly conduct and underage possession of alcohol. The police officer noted in his report that there was a “beer pong” table and several bottles and cans of alcohol beverages within sight.

In five cases, the residents received criminal warnings for disorderly conduct – loud noise. Those included incidents in the 200 block of South Mercer Road, the 800 block of Fifth Street, the 300 block of North Prospect Street, the 100 block of Clay Street, and the 400 block of East Napoleon Road.
