Australian singer songwriter Anna Smyrk will headline a Valentine’s Day double bill Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 6 p.m. at Grounds for Thought, 174 S. Main St. Bowling Green. Sharing the bill will be Adrianna Noone, an indie, folk, alternative performer from Rochester, New York.

Both will perform solo in the concert series produced by Grounds and BG Independent News.

Smyrk’s voice has been described as “truly astonishing” by Rolling Stone.  Her songs are anthemic indie bombshells, pairing vulnerable lyrics with explosive arrangements and undeniable hooks.

The singer and songmaker from Naarm (Melbourne) is on her first US tour including a showcased spot at SXSW in Austin and at Folk Alliance International in Kansas City.

She’s set to release her debut album later this year, following the EP released in 2023.

Smyrk has toured non-stop in the past few years both in Australia performing as a supporting artists and at festivals as well as showcases in Sweden and Canada.

Noone’s songs are described as telling “tales of love and heartache, blending indie and rock with a slight Yankee twang.” She started  her band at the start of the pandemic in 2020 and has since played at the Rochester Lilac Fest, Party in the Park, Buffalo’s Thursday & Main, and Babeville. At 25, she has sung with Brandi Carlile and opened for Lyle Lovett.
