Barbara S. Emch, 77, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born on June 8, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio to Paul A. and Virginia R. (Shiffler) Cox. On January 1, 1988 she married Gary Emch in Bowling Green, Oh. Barbara and Gary celebrated 21 years of marriage together before Gary’s passing in August of 2009. She would find love again in Dallas Coppler. A friendship grew into love, and he would later become her fiancé.
Barbara worked as a Manager for Uhlman’s Department Store in Bowling Green and Fremont, retiring in 1988. Her memberships included: Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pemberville, the Pemberville American Legion Auxiliary Post #183, and the Quilting Eagles. Barbara volunteered at Otterbein Senior Living and worked as the co-manager of the gift shop. With so many joys in life, it was her family that brought her the greatest joy.
Barbara is survived by her daughters: Jamie (Joe) Church of Sylvania, Jodie Chappuis of Pemberville, and Kelly (Neal) Hickey of Columbus. Grandchildren: Jacob Church, Jordan Church, Rylee Hickey, Eila Hickey and fiancé, Dallas Coppler of Pemberville. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Gary Emch.
Family and friends will be received from 3pm-7pm on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 220 Cedar Street, Pemberville. There will be additional visitation from 10 a.m., until the time of service. Officiating will be Pastor Timothy Philabaum. Memorials may take the form of contributions to: Wood County Humane Society or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
