Beeker’s General Store to hold ‘Sampling Saturday’ tasting event

(Submitted by Beeker’s General Store)

In honor of the “Big Game” in February, Beeker’s General Store in Pemberville is pulling together its best food vendors for a taste testing extravaganza. Join us on Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. for “Sampling Saturday.”

This event provides an opportunity to try our Amish edibles, local honey, fresh baked goods, Giannos Chocolates, Sechler’s pickles, Faro coffee, Mrs. Miller’s Cappuccino, Amish Wedding plum jelly thumbprint cookies and more.

Not only will guests have a chance to sample many items, but they will also have a chance to “Meet the Maker” and ask questions of the purveyor.

Vendors include: Country Grains Breads (sampling their preservative free, fresh baked breads) and SoBee Honey (sampling honey baklava bites and whipped honey) just to name a few.

Recipes incorporating products that we sell will also be available.

An additional highlight of this event, includes the opportunity to vote for the “People’s Choice” recipe that best tantalizes your taste buds. Local “celebrities” and residents are participating in a contest in which Beeker’s will provide a product that we feature.

The “mystery cooks” are being asked to create a delicious recipe with samples for taste testing. Products in the mystery brown bags include such items as: Backroad Country Pineapple Habanero Sesame Sticks and Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives, Sechler’s Sweet Pickled Onions, Post Muscadine White Grape Juice, Amish Wedding Honey Almond Granola, Roasted Pineapple Habanero Sauce, Zesty Peach BBQ Sauce, Bread ‘n’ Butter Pickles, Roasted Garlic Mustard, Apricot Jam, Old Fashioned Corn Relish, and Raspberry Syrup.
