ACT BG presented $5,650 on Tuesday to the One Author BGMS program. The money will be used to bring an author to the middle school in the 2020-2021 school year, and to purchase books by that author for every student.

ACT BG is a social-fundraising project of the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce. The funds were raised during the Amazing Race event.

The middle school will work with the Wood County District Public Library to bring the author to the community. Middle school media specialist Heather Fallis said the funding will allow each student to pick their choice of books by the visiting author.

“To have such a large amount from ACT BG, we are extremely grateful,” Middle School Principal Eric Radabaugh said on Tuesday.
