BG community bands to scare up Halloween sounds

From BOWLING GREEN AREA COMMUNITY BANDS

The Bowling Green Area Community Bands will present a Halloween Spooktacular concert on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 4 p.m., at the Bowling Green School Performing Arts Center (530 West Poe Road). The concert is free and doors open at 3:30 p.m. 

Join the Bands as we get ready for Halloween with an afternoon of fun, family-friendly music! Everyone is invited to wear a costume and children will be invited to the stage for a costume parade and prizes! 

BiG Band BG will kick off the concert with a tribute to the late William (Bill) E. Lake, founder and director of BiG Band BG. The band, led by Rob Cintron, will be performing “Come Fly With Me,” “Moondance,” “The Flick Machine” from Walt Disney’s “A Bug’s Life,” and Lake’s arrangement of “Sudwest Funk.

Under the baton of Catherine P. Lewis, the concert band will perform selections including: John Philip Sousa’s “Prince Charming March,”  selections from Disney’sEncanto,” “Cartoon Carnival (featuring tunes from “The Flintstones,” “Jetsons,” “Animaniacs,” and “Looney Tunes”),  “The Witching Hour,” “Tunes That Go Bump in the Night,” and “Curtain Call.”
