My wife Carol and I recently had the good fortune of meeting Reem Subei, endorsed Democratic candidate for the Ohio state senate. We found her to be a remarkable person, intelligent, pleasant, and clear thinking. More important though was her platform, built on a basis of equal justice for all. This statement from her webpage summarizes it quite well,
“I have dedicated my life to advocating equitable access to education, housing, and economic development for families, children, and all people in Ohio.”
As we talked with her after listening to her presentation, we found that her platform aligned almost perfectly with our primary issues and concerns. As we quizzed her about her views on health care, environmental issues, gun control, pay equality, and racial and sexual equity, her description of her understanding and planned way of attacking each left us feeling very comfortable that this was a candidate we could fully support.
