A 12-year-old girl was arrested Friday evening in City Park after she assaulted an officer with Bowling Green Police Division.
An officer responded to the park at 520 Conneaut Ave., around 6:15 p.m., after a caller reported multiple people fighting in the park. The officer observed two female juveniles fighting in the swing set area, and ordered both of them to sit on the ground.
One girl reportedly said she didn’t have to listen to the officer, kicked the officer in the legs, swung her closed fists, hitting the officer in the hands, and kicked again, knocking off the officer’s sunglasses.
While being transported to Wood County Juvenile Detention Center, the girl reportedly kicked the plastic divider in the cruiser. The officer then went to Wood County Hospital to be treated for an injury.
