BG man arrested for allegedly fighting then fleeing from police

Bowling Green Police Division arrested Josef Heuser, 21, of BG, for allegedly fighting and fleeing from officers Saturday at 3:46 a.m.

An officer saw Heuser and another man reportedly squaring up to fight in the middle of the 100 block of East Wooster Street. One man stopped to talk to police, as Heuser reportedly ran off.

Heuser was located by officers in the 100 block of Oak Street. His hands and shirt were reportedly covered with dried blood. Heuser told police he cut his hand when he struck a traffic sign on East Wooster Street. BG Fire Division was called to check on him, and he was then taken to Wood County Hospital before being transported to Wood County Jail.

While searching Heuser, police reportedly found four cell phones, two with the SIM cards removed.

Heuser was charged with disorderly conduct fighting, intoxication to the point of being unable to care for himself, and obstructing official business.
