Bowling Green Police arrested a man who reportedly punched another man when asked if the Taco Bell was open Saturday around 2:25 a.m.
Anterius Thomas, 22, Tiffin, was charged with assault and taken to Wood County Jail.
The reported victim and his friend were walking in the 100 block of North Main Street, downtown, when he asked Thomas, a stranger, if Taco Bell was open. Witnesses said Thomas became aggressive and started following and yelling at the victim, then punched him in the back of the neck.
Thomas reportedly got in a gray Honda, and was picked up when the Wood County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of South Main Street and Gypsy Lane Road.
Police reviewed footage from the downtown cameras in the 100 block of North Main Street. The victim was reportedly shown trying to walk away from Thomas multiple times, before being struck with a closed fist in the neck.
