BG Police arrest man for disorderly conduct with persistence

A Bowling Green police officer was flagged down at the Circle K at 103 N. Prospect St., Friday at 2:01 a.m., by a man who was walking on East Wooster Street when he was reportedly accosted by another man for “looking at him funny.”

The man, later identified as Tyrone Snodgrass, 31, of Bowling Green, was reportedly shouting expletives at the man who then flagged down police. Police approached Snodgrass, who reportedly walked down an adjacent alley.

Snodgrass then reappeared around the corner and said “I know you’re looking for me,” to the police officer. He reportedly gave police permission to search his backpack. There were no weapons in the pack, but police found suspected marijuana and paraphernalia.

The man who flagged down police asked if he could leave the scene, because he didn’t want to further anger Snodgrass.

Snodgrass then reportedly began shouting “what the f— you looking at” to two patrons leaving a nearby bar, and began walking toward them. An officer stepped in front of Snodgrass and told him to calm down.

One of the bar patrons yelled back to Snodgrass, “I know you ain’t talking to me with them big ass sandals.”

Snodgrass then removed his shoes, threw them into the roadway, and began walking toward the two patrons, allegedly in an attempt to start a fight. So one officer grabbed his right wrist, while another grabbed his left. But Snodgrass reportedly kept trying to lunge at the bar patrons. So the officers performed a takedown on Snodgrass, causing minor abrasions to his face and shoulder.

Snodgrass was placed in handcuffs.

BG EMS was called to the scene to assess Snodgrass’ injuries.

As police tried to gather his identifying information, Snodgrass began to shout expletives at the officers, and refused to identify himself. He told police he was homeless and had no ID.

While sitting on the ground, Snodgrass continued to yell at random people walking in the area. He yelled to some people across the street, “if I didn’t have these handcuffs on I’d beat your ass.”

When the EMS arrived on the scene to check his injuries, Snodgrass became irate, shouting loudly at the paramedics. He refused medical treatment, and continued shouting at the EMS, police officers, and people passing by.

While walking to the cruiser he yelled at a group of people just standing in the parking lot. Once at the cruiser he started yelling up at one of the apartment windows.

Snodgrass was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle, where he repeatedly kicked the door and bars on the window.

He eventually agreed to give police his information. He was arrested for disorderly conduct with persistence and obstructing official business, and taken to the Wood County jail.
