Toledo Opera’s. Opera Outdoors returns this May with weekly performances at Wildwood Preserve Metropark. The first performance will take place on the front lawn at the Manor House at Wildwood Preserve Metropark on Wednesday, May 8, at 6 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be moved indoors to the Manor House.
The upcoming series will feature the Opera’s 2023-2024 cohort of resident artists, selected from an international pool of more than 150 applicants for a one-year residency in Toledo. Resident Artists Sara Mortensen (soprano), Imara Miles (mezzo-soprano), Jon Suek (tenor), Evan Fleming (baritone), and Steven Naylor (pianist) will perform iconic vocal selections from the classical repertoire, along with musical theatre and other American standards.
“Since the program’s inception in fall of 2020, Opera Outdoors has become a part of our core programming” said Suzanne Rorick, Executive Director of the Toledo Opera. “We are honored to work alongside our fantastic community partners to share engaging and accessible live music from the vocal repertoire with everyone.”
