BG Police arrest man with active warrants, after he reportedly trips while trying to flee

Bowling Green Police arrested a man with three active warrants, after he reportedly tripped over a curb while trying to flee in the Walmart parking lot.

On Friday at 2:13 p.m., one of the BGPD’s license plate readers hit on a vehicle northbound on South Main Street near U.S. 6. The owner, Brad Mills, 45, of Arcadia, reportedly had three active warrants for his arrest from Findlay and Hancock County.

A BGPD officer located the vehicle in the Walmart parking lot, and saw the driver get out. The officer called Mills’ name, but he kept walking toward the store. The officer then pulled his cruiser between Mills and the Walmart entrance.

According to the police report, Mills took off running toward his vehicle. He reportedly then began running westward through the parking lot. Mills reportedly tripped over the curb of a median, and fell into the main entrance drive to Walmart. Police then took him into custody.

Mills reportedly complained of his knee hurting from the fall, and his chest hurting from running. BG Fire Division transported Mills to Wood County Hospital Emergency Department, which found no health issues.

Mills was charged with obstructing official business and taken to Wood County Jail.
