Bowling Green Police responded Thursday morning to a report of a woman being assaulted by her roommate in an apartment in the 900 block of South Main Street.
Crystal Lopez, 52, of Bowling Green was charged with assault and taken to Wood County Jail. During the investigation, police found that Lopez has a felony warrant from Defiance County.
The roommate told police that she had taken money out of Lopez’s account with her permission, to pay a utility bill. She paid the bill, then reportedly gave Lopez the remaining cash.
Later, Lopez reportedly accused the roommate of taking the money, and she allegedly shoved the roommate into a wall and grabbed her by the arm, leaving several scratches.
Police encouraged the roommate to contact the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office about getting a protective order or a no contact order against Lopez.
