Bowling Green Police responded Sunday afternoon to a fight at the community center that reportedly began with trash talking on the basketball court and ended with a teen being punched in the face.

A 17-year-old boy from Maumee reported that he was playing basketball with friends when a verbal dispute started with Dominic Myers, 19, of Weston. The boy told police that Myers got him in a headlock and punched his face. The boy had no visible injuries and did not need medical attention.

While police were gathering information about the incident, dispatch advised that the 17-year-old had an active warrant. He was taken to the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center.

Dispatch then informed the officers that Myers was coming to the police station to turn himself in. Myers reportedly stated he had put the younger boy in a headlock and punched him.

Myers was cited for assault and told he would be cited for trespassing if he returned to the community center.
