Bowling Green Police charged a man with aggravated burglary after he reportedly broke the door of a residence and allegedly attacked one of the residents.

Police were called to the 200 block of South Maple Street on Sunday around 4:20 in the morning after Timothy Sprott, 22, of Temperance, Michigan, allegedly broke into the home looking for his ex-girlfriend.

A resident of the house said he was awoken by loud banging on the front door. Sprott reportedly broke the door and began strangling the resident. Other roommates heard the struggle and reportedly chased Sprott out of the house.
