BG police respond to reports of lug nuts being stolen from vehicles

Bowling Green residents are being advised to check their wheels on their vehicles after reports of lug nuts being removed from vehicles in the city.

The Bowling Green Police Division has responded to two incidents involving the theft of lug nuts from vehicles. In one instance, the wheel fell off the vehicle at East Wooster Street and Campbell Hill Road. In the other instance the driver, who lives in the 200 block of South College Avenue, began having car trouble and called a tow truck. The tow driver noticed the lug nuts were missing, according to Lt. Dan Mancuso.

Residents are encouraged to inspect their vehicles prior to driving to ensure the vehicle can be safely operated.

The Bowling Green Police Division asks that citizens report any suspicious activity that they observe.
