BG Police respond to threat on Facebook over first day of school being delayed

Bowling Green Police Division responded to a threat made on Facebook about the decision to delay the start of the Bowling Green City School year.

Superintendent Francis Scruci told police that a concerned parent had contacted him about a recent Facebook post. The post reportedly started off by expressing discontent with the school`s decision to postpone the first day of school. The post ended with “And who is gonna take a poop in the superintendent mailbox? I`d do it myself, but…Job security….”

Scruci said that in his position he receives a lot of grievances from people. He stated he brushes off most of the comments but this one crossed the line.

The police contacted the woman about the threat. She told police she meant it as a joke. She stated several parents were venting about their frustrations with the school`s decision to push back the first day of school. The woman removed the post.

Police informed her that the report would be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for possible charges.
