BG Police respond to two alleged assaults downtown over weekend

Bowling Green Police responded to two alleged assaults over the weekend in the 100 block of East Wooster Street.

The first occurred Saturday around 11:19 p.m., inside a bar, when a woman was reportedly punched in the nose by another woman. Both women were reportedly ex-girlfriends of the same man.

The woman who reported the incident told police she believed her nose was broken, and she went to Wood County Hospital.

The bar, Nate and Wally’s, does not have video cameras. Police were going to contact the suspect.

Police responded to the same bar Monday at 1:19 a.m., after a man reported he was walking out of the establishment when a woman came up to him and punched him in the eye.

The man told police he cheated on his fiancee with another woman. That woman reportedly punched him because she found out he was engaged. The man only knew her first name

The bartender told police the woman comes to the bar occasionally, but he did not know her last name. He also told police she paid using cash, not a card.

Police advised the victim to contact them if he finds out the woman’s last name.
