BG Police respond to two reports of threats made over phone

Bowling Green Police Division responded to reports Tuesday afternoon of two people allegedly making threats over the phone to shoot or kill someone.

Police were dispatched to Wood County Juvenile Court, 1032 S. Dunbridge Road, around 3:49, after a prosecutor reported being threatened by the parent of two juveniles.

During a pretrial conference over speaker phone with other court employees in the room, Shaun Powell, 39, of Toledo, reportedly told the prosecutor, “I am going to get an attorney and if that does not work, I will shoot you.”

Powell was charged with intimidation of a public servant.

Police then responded at 4:30 p.m. to the 1500 block of Clough Street for violation of a protection order.

According to the police report, Brian Estis, 31, of Toledo, had been served with the protection order on Oct. 12, involving a resident of the Clough Street apartments. The woman told police that Estis had called her from a restricted number and threatened her, saying, “If I see you again, I will kill you.”

A warrant was to be issued for Estis.
