BG resident says Jeff Dennis was instrumental in making ‘Porchfest’ a success in the community

I am writing to express my support for Jeff Dennis for another term as At-Large City Councilman.

A few years ago, several of my neighbors and I were inspired by Porchfest events in other cities and decided to bring one to our own neighborhood. We saw this as a great way to celebrate our neighborhood, support the arts, and help build a stronger sense of community.

In the months leading up to our inaugural Porchfest, we had many questions. I reached out to Councilman Dennis as one of my representatives to help navigate the City’s permitting process and determine what other steps we needed to take. Jeff enthusiastically supported the idea from the very beginning. He not only helped us navigate the city’s regulations, he later worked with us to address the concerns of a few officials and neighbors who were perhaps less convinced the event would be a success.

Councilman Dennis’s involvement was instrumental in the success of the first Porchfest. He helped navigate the City’s rules and procedures, and was a visible presence at the event helping to ensure everything ran smoothly.

Porchfest has now been held three times in our neighborhood, and it has been a huge success each year. The event has brought hundreds of people to our neighborhood, and it has helped to create a sense of community and belonging.

I am grateful to Councilman Dennis for his support of Porchfest. He is a true supporter of the arts and culture, and he is always looking for ways to make our community a more vibrant and welcoming place. I urge you to support him for another term on November 7th.
