A Bowling Green restaurant is in the running for $1,000 in energy efficiency improvements.

Call of the Canyon Cafe has been selected as a finalist in Efficiency Smart’s Tip Jar Challenge. And local residents can help the downtown restaurant win.

Efficiency Smart helps participating American Municipal Power electric systems and their customers solve energy challenges and save money.

For businesses, the program provides technical assistance and financial incentives to encourage the installation of energy-efficient technologies. The staff works together with business customers to identify, assess, and validate energy efficiency projects.

In addition, the staff works across the supply chain and within communities to build relationships with contractors, retailers, community agencies, and other key stakeholders.

Efficiency Smart has selected five of the nominated restaurants as finalists and is holding a community vote on its Facebook page. The restaurant receiving the most votes at the end of the contest will win the $1,000 prize. Three people will also be selected to win a $50 gift card to the restaurant they nominated.
