BGSU COVID cases stable at semester’s end

With Christmas break at hand, the number of COVID-19 cases at Bowling Green State University remains stable.

Between Dec. 16 and Dec. 22, 46 new cases were reported – 37 students, three faculty, and six staff, all living off campus. The previous week had 44 cases.

The university in its current dashboard reports having 27 active cases that are being monitored by health departments. 

No students are in isolation in campus housing.

The university continues to test targeted populations. This week 157 individuals were tested with no cases detected.

Between Dec. 16 and Dec. 18, 383 individuals sought testing on campus with 20 testing positive, a 5.2 percent positivity rate.

For the semester 7,755 randomized surveillance tests have been conducted, detecting 47 cases, a 0.6 positivity rate.

Since the beginning of the semester there have been 1,058 cases of COVID-19 on campus – 978 students, 20 faculty, and 57 staff.
