Bowling Green State University head football coach Scot Loeffler is the guest speaker at the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club’s Thursday noon luncheon at Stone Ridge Golf Club.

Loeffler took over as the 20th head football coach in BGSU history after the 2018 season.

Loeffler is a Barberton, Ohio, native who played quarterback at the University of Michigan from 1993-96.  Bowling Green is his first head coaching job, but Loeffler has a long resume having coached at Michigan as a graduate assistant and with the Detroit Lions along with stops at the University of Florida, Temple, Auburn, Virginia Tech and Boston College.

He took over a BGSU program that was struggling.  The Falcons had ups and down in Loeffler’s first season with a 3-9 record, but one of the three wins was a dynamic 20-7 victory over arch-rival Toledo.  With a large number of returning lettermen and a highly regarded recruiting class coming in next season, there is optimism that the improvement will continue.
