Perrysburg troupe casting ‘revolting children’ for ‘Mathilda the Musical’

Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, the Tony Award-winning Roald Dahl’s “Matilda The Musical” is the captivating masterpiece from
the Royal Shakespeare Company that revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life.

With book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda has won 47 international awards and continues to thrill sold-out audiences of all ages around the world.

PMT is excited to bring this production to the stage at Perrysburg High School this June 25-28.

PMT is holding an audition workshop that will prepare auditionees, ages 7
and up, to embody the characters for the upcoming auditions. The workshop is being held at St. Timothy’s Church from 10a.m.-3:30p.m. with various times to participate based on an auditionees’ ages on March 21, 2020. Interested participants can register at www.perrysburgmusicaltheatre.org. The cost is $20 per person.

During the workshop, participants will work with the Artistic Director of PMT, Director, Music Director, and Choreographer of “Matilda” on material from the show and will get a chance to see what the staff are looking for in each character, as well as tips to really make them stand out in their auditions. “Matilda” is a very character driven show and the workshop will
showcase named characters in the musical.

Audition packets and audition sign up ups are available on PMT’s website. Auditions for ages 7 and up will be April 13, 5-8 p.m. and April 15, 7-9 p.m. Invited callbacks will be April 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
