The Perrysburg Musical Theatre Company will hold auditions for its upcoming production of “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street A Musical Thriller,” with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Hugh Wheeler, and from an adaptation by Christopher Bond.
PMT is seeking performers high school age and up for its thrillingly macabre season opener directed by Marshall Kupresanin with musical direction by Logan Maccariella and choreography by Brittany Kupresanin.
Winner of eight Tony Awards (including Best Musical), “Sweeney Todd” follows the title character, a wrongly exiled barber, who returns to 19th Century London bent on bloodthirsty revenge.
Auditions will be held: Wednesday, Aug. 24 and Thursday, 25 from 6-8:30 p.m. with callbacks Saturday, Aug. 27 beginning at 11 a.m.
Auditions will take place in Way Public Library (101 E. Indiana Ave., Perrysburg.

The show will be staged Oct. 28-29 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. in the Juliet Beck Auditorium inside the Commodore Building, 140 E. Indiana Ave., Perrysburg.
“Sweeney Todd” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
