Bowling Green State University will celebrate Homecoming Sept. 11 – Sept. 15 with a variety of events for students, alumni and community members.

The festivities will formally kick off at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday with an All-Campus Picnic for students, faculty and staff in the Bowen-Thompson Quadrangle. The seventh annual Homecoming Bed Races, hosted by the Office of Residence Life, will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday in parking lot N. A Block Party with music, lawn games and snacks and drinks will be held at the same time for students to cheer on the bed racers.

Other events include a BGSU Alumni Craft Brewers Sampling and Falconland. Community members are encouraged to explore more than 20 featured points of interest on this fun, self-guided tour. Participants should check in at the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, the Wolfe Center for the Arts or the Mileti Alumni Center between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sept. 14 to receive a Falconland map and start their journey. Stops on the tour include the Teaching Kitchen, the University’s state-of-the-art Anatomage table, glassblowing in the Fine Arts Center and the Herpetology Lab.

Sept. 14 will feature the Freddie and Frieda 5K, tailgating and a new Falcon Fun Zone before the Falcons face the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at 5 p.m. at Doyt Perry Stadium.

Various alumni events will be held throughout the weekend, including a Class of 1969 reunion, tours and tailgate parties. The 2019 Class of the Academy of Distinguished Alumni will also be inducted Sept. 12, and this year’s 10 Under 10 honorees, recent alumni who have made significant impacts in their fields, will present a career panel open to students Sept. 13.
