Bobcat baseball clinches lead in eighth inning for 13-8 victory over Bryan

Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats Baseball defeated Bryan 13-8 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game.  The game was tied at five with the Bobcats batting in the top of the eighth when Brock Hastings singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Bats blistered as BG collected 14 hits and Bryan tallied 13 in the high-scoring game.

The Bobcats got things moving in the first inning.  Jimmy LaForce drove in two when LaForce doubled.

Bryan knotted the game up at five in the bottom of the seventh inning, when an error scored one run for Bryan.

After BG scored two runs in the top of the second, Bryan answered with two of their own.  The Bobcats scored when Ryan Jackson drew a walk, scoring one run.  Bryan then answered when Joe Watson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run and a sacrifice bunt by Noah Huard scored one run for Bryan.

LaForce took the win for BG. The righthander went two innings, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out one and walking one.  Jack Brown threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Mikey Wolff started the game for Bryan. Wolff went three innings, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out one.  Ethan Psurny and Landon Shilling entered the game from the bullpen, throwing four innings and one inning respectively.

Austin Bowen started the game for the Bobcats. The righty went four and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out one and walking one

Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats scattered 14 hits in the game.  LaForce, Jackson, Braden Loomis, and Brady Gaines each racked up multiple hits for BG.  Jackson and LaForce each collected three hits to lead the Bobcats.

Bryan tallied 13 hits.  Quinn Brown, Wolff, Watson, Carter Dominique, and Taysen Deckrosh all managed multiple hits for Bryan.  Brown led Bryan with three hits in five at bats.
