BRAVE ‘Soul Speaking’ event to feature Black poetry and music

BRAVE (Black Rights Activism, Visibility and Equity) in Bowling Green is hosting “Soul Speaking” featuring Black poetry and music on Friday, Feb. 26, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

The public is invited to join the evening of Black poets and musicians exploring issues of race and equity through creative and artistic expression.

The event is being held at Brookside City Space, 123 Court St., Bowling Green. The limited space is already filled, but members of the public can access the event live streamed at https://www.bravebg.org/events.

Anthony King, one of the founders of BRAVE in Bowling Green, said the organization has focused many of its events on protests and rallies to share the pain and frustration of people of color. Friday’s “Soul Speaking” event is intended to recognize and celebrate Black art with the community.
