Carl F. Hagemeyer, 81, of Wayne, Ohio passed away October 3, 2017. Carl was born on the fifth generation family homestead located on Cloverdale Road on March 15, 1936 to the late George and Edith (Aufdenkamp) Hagemeyer. He married Maxine Miller on August 8, 1959 in St. Paul United Church of Christ in Oak Harbor, Ohio and she survives him.
Carl graduated from Portage Township School in 1954. He worked at LOF in Rossford, Ohio until his retirement after 32 years in 1991 and farmed up until March of 2017. Carl was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church serving in many capacities including President and was known for having a very serving heart. He was a member of the Portage Valley Lutheran Men’s Association, the Gleaner Portage Center Arbor, and assisting his wife with Martha’s Kitchen. Carl enjoyed being part of the Dartball league, camping with his family, hunting, woodworking, and enjoyed going to farm auctions.
Carl is survived by his wife Maxine of Wayne, Ohio; daughters: Kathy (Brian) Wilhelm of Custar, Ohio; Cheryl (Anthony) Hagemeyer-Vetter of Bowling Green, Ohio; son: John (Karen) Hagemeyer of Bowling Green, Ohio; sister: Marjorie Schulte of Woodville, Ohio; brother: James Hagemeyer of Waterville, Ohio; grandchildren: Nichole (Neil) Sanghavi, Jesicca (Tim) Sautter, McKenzie Wilhelm, Jack, Luke, & Zane Hagemeyer; great grandchildren Beau Sautter, and Zoey Sanghavi. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; George and Edith; sisters: Louise Smith, Donna Belle Brinker, brother-in-laws: Elmer Brinker, Victor Schulte, William H. Smith; and sister-in-law Janet Hagemeyer.
Visitation for Carl will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1460 W. Wooster ST./P.O. Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Tele: 419-352-2171. Funeral Services for Carl will be held in the Hope Lutheran Church, 13507 Cloverdale Rd, Bowling Green, OH, 43402 on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow in Fish Cemetery.
