Carolyn Kern, 76, of Bowling Green passed away Saturday August 13, 2016.
Carolyn was born in Wauseon, Ohio to the late Homer F. and Edna (Babcock) Mohler. During her freshman orientation at Bowling Green State University she met her true love Donald Kern and they were married on August 27, 1960 in the Zion Methodist Church in Toledo and he survives in Bowling Green. Also surviving are her two sons: Brian (Miranda) Kern of Stockbridge, Georgia and Greg (Trish) Kern of Lawrence, Michigan; five grandchildren: Justin, Lance, Morgan, Ryan, and Sarah. She was preceded in death by her sister Sally.
Carolyn was a Librarian secretary for Anthony Wayne Schools and loved to garden and plant her flowers. She enjoyed reading woman’s novels and listening to all sorts of music, especially, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. She and Don also enjoyed traveling around the United States, the Caribbean and to the Pacific. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football fan and enjoyed tailgating at the home games. Carolyn had unconditional love for her family and friends. She loved life, her family and her smile always brightened the room and everyone around her.
Funeral Services for Carolyn will be private with burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carolyn’s honor to the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen Foundation or to the American Melanoma Foundation.
