From BOWLING GREEN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce has awarded its Investor Grant for the first quarter of 2024 to Bowling Green Save Our Neighborhoods Group.
Kathleen Dennis, chair of BG SONG’s Community Development Committee, applied for the Investor Grant in hopes of using the money to help offset the cost of an internship for a BGSU undergraduate student.
The intern will serve over the summer of 2024 to support organizational growth, program development and fundraising strategies.
“This opportunity will not only extend the efforts of BG SONG to meet the goals of our mission but will also provide an excellent immersive learning opportunity for a student. Such an experience will support the community of Bowling Green and facilitate the student’s career advancement through direct work experience in the field of their choice,” said Dennis. “Our specific intern needs are three-fold. Our intern will support our Rock the Block program, BG SONG fundraising efforts, and work closely with the Community Development Chair on organizing a Community Workshop planned in conjunction with [BGSU]. This workshop will bring investors, city administrators, community members, BGSU students and faculty and other stakeholders together to develop a shared vision to best answer the question; ‘How do we as a community, provide financially accessible housing for our residents while working to re-vitalize and invigorate Bowling Green neighborhoods?’”
The Quarterly Investor Grants are available to all Investors in good standing at the Chamber, and the application is available online for easy submission. The Quarterly Investor Grant provides a Chamber Investor up to $1,000 that can offset the cost of an employee training program, the purchase of business-related equipment, or applied towards the offset of a BGSU/Owens student internship.
The deadline for 2nd Quarter Grant submission is June 30.
