Charles was an avid cook and baker, always searching for new recipes to perfect. In a letter he left for his family, Charles wrote, “Through your sadness, rejoice and make it a joyous homecoming for me. Make sure you stay firm in your stand for our precious Lord and Savior. It won’t be long until we will be reunited and can have all of eternity to be together.”
