Child seriously injured in two-vehicle crash in Lake Township

Four people including a juvenile with serious injuries were transported from the scene of a vehicle crash at the intersection of State Route 795 and Cummings Road in Lake Township, Tuesday (July 9)  late afternoon.

According to the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which was called to the scene at 5:22 p.m., Ervin Kosch, 50, of Walbridge, was traveling east on State Route 795 in a 2010 Toyota Corolla, when he attempted a left turn to head head north on Cummings Road. 

He failed to yield to Analita Clark, 24, of Toledo, who was traveling west on State Route 795 in a 2010 Ford Fusion. 

Kosch’s car struck Clark’s vehicle.

A juvenile passenger in the back seat of Clark’s vehicle was transported from scene by Lake Township Police Department to Bay Park Community Hospital. They were then transported from Bay Park by air ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent where they are being treated for a serious injury.

Clark was transported from scene by air ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The second juvenile passenger traveling with Clark in the backseat was transported from scene to Bay Park by Lake Township EMS. They were then transported from Bay Park by Lake Township EMS to Mercy St. Vincent with no injuries.

Kosch was transported from scene to Bay Park by Lake Township EMS for non-life threatening injuries. 

All occupants were believed to be wearing their safety belts. Impairment was not a factor in this crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Lake Township Police Department, Perrysburg Township Police Department, Lake Township Fire and EMS, Life Flight, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
