For several years, the Sunset Bistro restaurant in Bowling Green raised money for Disabled American Veterans at Christmas time. But when COVID came, those fundraisers were put on hold.

Sensing that now is the time to get those fundraisers going again, Sunset Bistro owner Prudy Brott is planning to catch up by holding “Christmas in July for Veterans.”

The event will be held July 11, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the restaurant at 1220 W. Wooster St. There will be a $15 charge at the door for a buffet and music, with $3 going directly into the donation jar. Also 20% of the bar sales will go to Disabled American Veterans.

The event will feature live music from Tom Gorman and Ruben.

The buffet will include heavy appetizers, sandwiches and desserts. There will be no ordering from the menu. No reservations will be taken.

There will be a 50/50 raffle, plus donations accepted for the DAV fund. The event and donations are in memory of Prudy’s dad, David D. Brott, a Vietnam combat veteran.
