Clara Gayle Simpson, 85, passed away on December 8, 2018 in Bowling Green, OH after a long illness. She was born October 28, 1933 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Norwood Goudy and Bessie Goddard Goudy.
She was happily married to the late Kenneth Nyle Simpson for 57 years before his demise in 2011. They enjoyed many trips together in the US and abroad. Both were avid photographers.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Lou Cronin (John) in Pinellas Park, FL.
She was a loving mother and grandmother to her sons and their families and especially to Brad. She is also survived by her sons Bruce Simpson, Columbus, Ohio, Gregory Simpson and wife, Susan Clanton, Weston, OH, Wayne Simpson, Reinholds, PA and Brad Simpson, Weston, OH, four grandchildren Kaitlin Simpson and husband, Andrew Moore, of Augusta, GA, Gayle Simpson of Lebanon, PA, Morgan Simpson of Greensboro, NC and Matthew Simpson of Myerstown, PA and two great grandchildren.
Clara was a graduate of Warwood High School and went on to obtain her Bachelors in Education from West Liberty University and Masters in Education from West Virginia University. She taught 3rd and 4th grade in Wheeling for 33 years at Webster Elementary School and Ritchie Elementary.
Before her illness, she was an active member of the National Road Church of Christ in Wheeling.
