In response to the recent letter to the editor outlining concerns about lack of resources for those experiencing homelessness in Bowling Green, we feel compelled to shed more light on the work being done by the Wood County Housing and Homeless Coalition (formally the Continuum of Care Wood County).

The Wood County Housing and Homelessness Coalition consists of a group of dedicated individuals working to alleviate homelessness in Wood County by fostering coordination of services and resources and creating a housing solution for every need through education, communication, outreach, research, data collection and advocacy.

While we recognize the urgency to assist those experiencing homelessness in our communities, it is important to acknowledge that addressing homelessness is a complex and multifaceted issue.  We are working collectively to gather data, explore options and present solutions.  We welcome individuals who would like to be part of this conversation to join us.  For more information, please contact Shannon Fisher, WCHHC Secretary, at shannon.fisher@jfs.ohio.gov.

Together, we can work towards building a community that is compassionate, inclusive and dedicated to ensuring everyone has access to safe, accessible, affordable housing.
