The Wood County Emergency Management Agency  has issued the following advisory:

Overnight, the Storm Prediction Center has upgraded all of Ohio into the “Enhanced Risk” (Level 3 of 5) for severe weather.    This weather event is forecasted to come in multiple rounds starting around noon Wednesday and continuing into Wednesday evening. When the storms begin, they will start as scattered thunderstorms and then likely organize into a definitive line ahead of and along the front.

With these storms will come a risk for several hazards. These hazards include: damaging winds of 50-70mph, large hail to 2” diameter, and tornadoes. The total rainfall is estimated to be between 0.25-1.00”, with locally higher amounts.

Currently, there are still several variables that can impact the severity of Wednesday’s weather.

We are encouraging all our partners to review tomorrow’s weather and identify how this type of severe weather may impact their operations.  Now is the time to consider your options and to have plans in place.  This system will most likely be occurring during the afternoon rush hour, which could affect travel.
