David & Jane Ridenour to talk about Boys & Girls State, Nov. 29

Dave Ridenour has Veterans Hall of Fame medal put on by his wife, Jane.

David and Jane Ridenour will be the speakers at the meeting of the Bowling Green Exchange Club on Tuesday Nov. 12  at noon at the BG Country Club. Their topic will be the selection process for Buckeye Boys and Girls state participants.

David Ridenour is a 1970 graduate of Bowling Green State University and was commissioned as a 2ndLieutenant in the US Army. David served in Vietnam with the 1st Signal Brigade in 1971-72 and served as the Executive Officer for Radio Company – Long Binh. During his tour, David was awarded the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service. Ridenour is a Past Commander and currently Post Adjutant of the Bowling Green American Legion Post 45 and has been on the staff of the American Legion Buckeye Boys State for 17 years with 14 of those years on the Board of Trustees. He has been active in selecting boys from the Bowling Green community as delegates for Buckeye Boys State for 20 years.

In 2020, David was inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame.

Jane Ridenour joined the Bowling Green American Legion Auxiliary Unit 45 in 2002. She has served in various leadership positions and now is the Department First Vice President and Membership Chairman for the year 2022-23. She was the Buckeye Girls State Chairman for her Auxiliary unit for five years and has been active in the selection process within the Bowling Green community. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for Buckeye Girls State.

Supporting candidates for Buckeye Boys and Girls State is part of the Exchange Club’s three Programs of Service: Americanism, Community Service and Youth Programs.

The public is welcome to attend the Exchange Club meetings. Lunch is $13, cash at the door.
